Our final musical event of the season took place on 4th June at Christ Church Cathedral when we were invited to participate in a concert promoted by the Michael McNeal Singers from Atlanta. This was the last concert on their four concert tour of Ireland and we were all delighted to see a full cathedral on a lovely Summer evening.
The Guinness Choir sang six pieces at the start of the concert and the Michael McNeal singers then presented a varied programme of American, Irish and other items to a very enthusiastic audience. The concert finished with the two choirs joining in singing the Bob Chilcott arrangement of ‘An Irish Blessing’ – a fitting end to a most enjoyable evening.
